John Dorsey
Writer, Poet and Producer

John Dorsey has been writing almost as long as he could pick up a pencil. Born in a military hospital in HI in 1976, Dorsey has been publishing since the early 1990's. He holds a B.F.A. in Writing for Film & Television from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and has studied under such noted screenwriters as the late Charles Purpura, who wrote the "Heaven Help Us" starring Andrew McCarthy and "Satisfaction" starring Julia Roberts and Blake Snyder, who wrote "Stop or My Mom Will Shoot!" starring Sylvester Stallone and "Blank Check" starring Karen Duffy. He has worked for producers such as Theron Fairchild of Artlander Productions of Los Angeles and Ned Stuart of Lang Syne Films of New York. He also wrote the treatment "Rodney" for the late Rodney Dangerfield at the comedian's request. He is the author of the successful off-Broadway play "Moon Magnets" which was produced by Paladin Music and Entertainment, Inc. in 2001 and ran at the Producers Club in New York City starring indie film personalities David M. Zuber and Rebecca Lovett. He has spent the last several years working as a newspaper journalist interviewing the likes of Ricki Lake and Ted Nugent. He has also been a finalist for the Chesterfield Film Writer's Project Fellowship.
